WHAT IS A STUDENT AMBASSADOR?
Student Ambassadors are leaders in the Hudson Global Scholars Student Community. They show exemplary spirit in the student community, lead conversations and events in the HGS Clubs, and each runs their own leadership project to demonstrate their talents. Ambassadors must be:
15-18 years old,
enrolled in our dual or full diploma,
have excellent academic records, strong leadership skills,
and a commitment to serving their peers and community for 1-2 hours per week.
They must be active members of the HGS club chats and participate in its activities before applying.
They must also be willing to represent Hudson Global Scholars in a variety of ways.
Students must apply, have an interview, and be selected to be part of this exclusive program.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STUDENT AMBASSADOR
Once selected, Student Ambassadors meet on a regular basis and contribute their skills to improving the student community. Every student ambassador identifies a leadership project in the form of a club. For example, students who would like to improve their public speaking skills might create a public speaking club and deliver live presentations to peers across the globe and lead a live debate. Or those passionate about art may start an Art Club with weekly activities and discussions in the group chat, and regular live events on Zoom.
Ambassadors also support one collaborative project. They may wish to post once a week in the Language or Trivia club, or may wish to write for the Student Blog twice a week, or help craft social media videos/posts.
Ambassadors bring big ideas to the community—they have been responsible for creating and leading some of our most popular clubs.
Being an ambassador is an excellent opportunity to showcase unique talents and interests, build leadership skills, and stand out in university applications. Those who successfully complete their Student Ambassadorship receive a certificate for their contributions!
Ambassadorship responsibilities include:
Take over an existing club, or, possibly, launch a new club. This involves posting 1-2 times a week in the chat/activity feed and being in touch weekly with the community manager regarding club plans, adjustments and ideas.
Collaborative project posting in Language, Trivia, or other joint Clubs once a week, or helping with big events or social media posts/videos.
Give feedback to HGS teams and represent students regarding initiatives and improvements in focus groups or surveys.
Be highlighted on our Social Media, Student Blog, HGS website/blog, video interviews, and brochures.
Either run live events on Zoom or write articles for the Student Blog.
Individual or Team Ambassador Reflection meeting every 3-6 months on Zoom.
APPLICATIONS
We accept applications year-round and hold interviews closer to admission time. We notify ambassadors of their selection and they start their ambassadorship twice a year, in August and January.
