Our First D&D Quest

Last week, we launched our first-ever live Dungeons & Dragons adventure on Zoom — and it was an unforgettable mix of chaos, teamwork, storytelling, and hilarious dice‑betrayals. With a professional Dungeon Master guiding the journey, everyone was swept straight into the world of Faerûn.

And now, here’s how Matias — one of our brave adventurers — recounts the wild beginning of our campaign:

The Happy Fools Begin Their Journey

On a regular Saturday, we had our first D&D campaign where Ophelia, Lord of the Trees, Ventus and Armaline banded together as the “Happy Fools” adventuring group in order to become renowned adventurers in the realm of Faerun.

A Cat‑Astrophic First Mission

We arrived at a village and declared ourselves protectors of it, but when trouble first arrived in the form of a stray cat stuck in a tree, we messed up so badly that the cat died (those darn dice were not on our side for that one). Fortunately, there were 2 clerics in the party who ended up managing to revive the cat (the dice rolled in our favor this time).

Pepito in Peril

A few days after adopting the undead cat and naming it Pepito, a fire started in the town’s mill. Every villager tried to help put out the fire. But in the midst of helping the villagers put out the fire, we discovered Pepito was trapped in it.

The Mysterious Giggling Goblin

While Lord of the Trees, Ophelia and Ventus rescued it, Armaline noticed a giggling goblin staring at the fire. She went and asked him some questions before deciding to fool him into a friendship between him and the rest of the group.

A Goblin’s Story

Back at the base, they talked with the goblin, and he revealed that his parents had died at the hands of a dragon and that he may have started the fire due to some friction with the mill’s owner. After feeding him, a looming shadow of a dragon towered over the village.

The goblin recognized the dragon as his mother and said that they’d love her, leaving our heroes with a big problem in their hands…
