Impressions of the Imposter Game

Lamis, your Sudanese Student Ambassador in Turkey, leads the Connecting Games club to bring together students in an informal space to get to know each other.

Our Game Club live session turned out to be a lot of fun! Three of us played several rounds of the Imposter Game, and even with this small group, it became surprisingly chaotic in the best way.

In the first rounds, two of us knew the secret word while the third person was the imposter and only had a vague hint. Everyone had to say a related word and try not to be too obvious, while the imposter tried to blend in and guess the topic.

But the funniest part came later when we changed the rules. Instead of one person having no idea, the “imposter” actually received a different but similar word. For example, two players might get word A while the third secretly gets word C. The best part? The imposter didn’t even realize they were the imposter, at least for a while!

This led to some hilarious moments where everyone sounded suspicious, and we were all trying to figure out who had the wrong word. It was chaotic, funny, and honestly one of those “Oh my! What is happening?” moments.

Hear what one of the members said:

Lamis “organized everything and made sure the game was fun. She was super kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more fun. There were three of us playing, and it was so fun trying to figure out who the imposter was. In the first few rounds it was very easy but the more we played, it got more difficult and fun!

The game itself was entertaining, and I loved how interactive it felt, even though we were all online. Overall, it was such a fun experience, and I’d love to join another session like this soon.”

Overall, it was a great session full of laughs, clever guesses, and creative thinking. We’re definitely looking forward to more fun games like this in the Game Club!
