Contact Game Event Recap

Lamis, your Sudanese Student Ambassador in Turkey, leads the Connecting Games club to bring together students in an informal space to get to know each other.

This past Saturday, we hosted our third live event at the Connecting Games Club, and this time, we played the Contact Game — a fun and interactive word-guessing game that brings people together through quick thinking and teamwork.

Even though the group was small, the energy was great from the start. Everyone jumped right into the game, sharing creative hints, trying to “make contact,” and laughing at the unexpected moments that made the session so enjoyable.

For those who are new to the game, Contact is all about connection. One player thinks of a word and shares only the first letter, while the others try to guess it by asking clever “Does/is it…” questions that the word-holder has to answer with “No, it is not a…” and think of other words with that letter to answer with. When two players think they are thinking of the same word and the word-holder can’t answer the question, they say “Contact!” and count down “3, 2, 1” to reveal it together — creating those exciting moments when minds actually match. If they said the same word, then the word-holder gives another letter to their word. And so it continues…

Throughout the session, we saw some really smart thinking and funny misunderstandings, which made the game even better. It wasn’t just about guessing the word, but about how people communicated, collaborated, and reacted in the moment.

What made this event special wasn’t the number of participants, but the atmosphere. It felt relaxed, friendly, and genuinely fun — exactly what the club is about.

We’re really looking forward to our next event and hope to see even more people join us. Whether you’re new or have joined before, the Connecting Games Club is always open to anyone who wants to have fun and connect with others.

Stay tuned for more games and more great moments ahead! 🎉
